This wheel throwing course is designed for intermediate to advanced potters looking to expand their skills and refine their approach to making. Each class will introduce and explore a different technique through discussion, instructor demonstrations, and hands-on practice.
Students will learn a range of advanced techniques, including spiral wedging, throwing off the hump, tap centering, making and using chucks, and developing bottle, altered, and combined forms. Surface approaches such as carving and water etching will also be introduced.
The goal of the course is to help students build confidence and flexibility in their throwing practice, incorporating new techniques into their personal workflow.
Students should have the foundational skills of centering and throwing basic forms.
